Participate in the St. Timothy - International Language Leaf Art Contest, by making your own masterpiece!

  Leaf Art Conest Rules
  Eligibility
The contest is open to all students of International Language at St. Timothy. Leaves must be gathered during fall months. Do not alter the shapes and the colour of the leaves

Entries and Identification
Limit one entry per student. Each entry should contain following items at the BACK side of work:
1. English Name and the Name in your language
2. Date of Birth
3. Name of your teacher and the language
4. 2-3 sentences of your own language (see Format for the detail)

Format
Paste the colourful pressed leaves (see the directions for making a leaf press) that you¡¯ve found onto 8.5 x 11in (A4) paper, and tell us why you choose to make that particular leaf art in 2-3 sentences of your own language.

We encourage our younger students, age 6 and under, to copy down the words onto their own artwork. Parents, please help students write down the words they verbally used to express their artwork.

Do not cover the leaves with plastic. Do not frame the art work.

Directions for making a leaf press:
1. Cut 15 - 20 pieces of corrugated cardboard 25 cm by 30 cm in size.
2. Cut several sheets of newspaper the same size as the cardboard.
3. Lay 10 or 12 sheets of newspaper between each cardboard layer sandwich style.
These sheets will need to be changed every couple of days as they absorb moisture
from your leaves; therefore, cut extra sheets.
4. Use one, preferably two, stretch belts to bind the press together.
5. Leave the press in an area so that air can circulate & more quickly dry the leaves.
