学校宗旨
宝灵顿中文学校是一所非营利，不涉及宗教政治由政府筹办的正式中文教育机构。学校办学宗旨是藉由汉语的教授在加拿大多元社会中传播、弘扬、保存、传承中华悠久和灿烂的文化，并增进各不同族裔对中华语言、文化及族群的了解和接受。The Burlington Chinese School is a non-profit educational organization that has been supported by the Canadian government for over 30 years. The purpose of the school is to maintain, develop, spread and carry forward the splendid and long-standing culture of China for future generations. Moreover, we hope that different ethnic communities will gain an awareness of the Chinese language and culture.
本鉴于学校的办学宗旨宝灵顿中文学校以追求高质量教学为目标，除了遴选优秀教师外，还选择适合北美文化成长背景学生的教材，以激发学习兴趣，增强中文学习自信心为首任。学校为因应不同背景学生的需求，设立普通话和广东话。于普通话中又细分设置简体字班及繁体字班。学生在循序渐进完成从学前班到八年级课程后，可进入简体字学分班或繁体字学分班继续学习。The Burlington Chinese School aims to improve the quality of its teaching in order to motivate its students to learn the Chinese language, and to ensure that all students reach their maximum potential with confidence. We strive to achieve this by choosing professional Chinese teachers, providing suitable learning materials and offering a variety of course options to students of all ages. Our programs are designed to meet different student needs in order to help them to complete and master instructions in the Chinese language by attending classes from JK and or SK to Grade 8. We set up both Mandarin and Cantonese classes. We divide Mandarin classes into simplified Chinese classes and traditional Chinese classes with both featuring each type of Chinese writing respectively. After students graduate from Grade 8, they can continue their Chinese language learning in credit classes.
宝灵顿中文学校除了严谨教学外，另一特色聘请学有专精老师主持校内文化教育的推广。期望学生于学习文化课中由认同文化进而肯定身为华夏子孙的荣耀。为达此目的，全体老师于百忙之中定期训练，以辅助文化教学。In addition to basic language classes, the Burlington Chinese School is fortunate to have a professional teacher who specializes in the teaching of Chinese culture. Through these Chinese culture studies, our students are expected to become more accepting and proud of their Chinese cultural heritage. All of our language teachers attend the Chinese culture training course in order to provide a better foundation in Chinese cultural education.
随着中国在世界政治和经济舞台上日趋重要，全球目前激起一波又一波学习中文的浪潮。面对这新形势，宝灵顿中文学校将创立另一新特色，开设特别中文课程班。该班以招收那些渴望学习中文，但双亲不具备中文背景的学生为主,例如：从中国收养而来的儿童,或父母双方都是加拿大或父母一方为加拿大人的儿童，或在家里从小就缺乏说中文习惯的东南亚华侨移民等家庭的少年儿童。希望这一创举能免去遗珠之憾，务使每一族群都有机会学习中文。As China increasingly plays a more important role both politically and economically in the world stage, study of the Chinese language has boomed around the world. In light of this new situation, the Burlington Chinese School will initiate a new program that is open to students without Chinese background but who are passionate about learning the Chinese language. We will ensure that students from these communities have the best access to a Chinese learning opportunity.
宝灵顿中文学校30多年来在各届校长、老师及家长的悉心提携和灌溉下日渐成长。学生人数已超过300人。尽管学校小有规模，但是校务繁杂，更希望有志之士能不厌其烦，鼎力相助，使宝灵顿中文学校能成为海外文化绿洲，培养出心胸开阔、知书达理的华夏子弟。The Burlington Chinese School has gradually grown over the past 30 years as a general Chinese school with over 300 students, principles, teachers, and parents all working hard together as a team. To grow and improve our school, we need more and more help from people who share our dream, which is to make the Burlington Chinese School a Chinese cultural oasis. Here our children will grow up learning the Chinese language and exploring the Chinese culture with confidence and passion, as well as being open-minded and accepting towards all cultures around the world.
